About "The Eynsham Noise"
Since 2002, the Eynsham Churches gather together once a year to undertake a large scale community action project. The aim of the project is to help where help is needed most and to date, most of our projects have centred around the household help for the elderly/infirm and street cleaning.
We believe in putting our time where our faith is. This means getting out there on the streets, rolling up our sleeves and helping out where best we can. We know we can't solve all of the villages problems but we do our best to make a small a difference in small ways.
The name "The Noise" is simply a play on words. We believe in making a loud noise in the community about faith, hope and love without actually making much of a noise. Hopefully, actions speak louder than words!
In the end we are hoping all our deeds will point to God, the ultimate giver of much more than we could ever give.
"The Noise" is actually an initiative which comes from a pioneering youth focused church in Watford called Soul Survivor. In conjunction with other Christian organisations they have executed massive inner city community action projects in Manchester and London since 2000. You can find out more about this at www.soulaction.org.
Garden clearing/household help for elderly and infirm - do you need help?
The project day is fast approaching and the team are keen to know who needs help with their garden or in their home. If you are interested in receiving help and are elderly or infirm, please contact Jolyon Cox on 01856 880563 and we will discuss how we can help you.
We must stress that we are aiming to help with "garden clearing" and not fine gardening!
The project is a one day event and this year will see The Noise in Eynsham celebrate its fifth birthday!
